Behnam,

We are trying to simulate power levels already permitted by rule for ship station marine radios by using a
25 W transmitter with antenna gain of approx. 6 dB. However, the actual units we will be using on ship
stations have an integral antenna with 0 dB gain. As a result, we can accept a 25 W ERP limit for the
ship stations. As the regional VPC licensee of these same frequencies, we would prefer to be permitted
to operate normally with 50W at the input terminal of the antenna. However, so as not to delay the
processing of this application, we would accept a lower ERP limit as deemed appropriate by this Office.
