Narrative for Experimental STA MariTEL, Inc. (“MariTEL”) is the largest provider of VHF Public Coast (“VPC”) services and provides both voice and data communication solutions to the maritime industry. MariTEL continues to expand its wireless data capabilities and is collaborating with SEA to assess the use of technology for VHF-FM Digital Small Message Services as contemplated by Special Committee 123 (“SC123”) of the Radio Technical Commission for Maritime Services (“RTCM”). Permission is requested for six months to operate equipment from SEA Inc. (“SEA”) that supports both traditional voice/DSC operations in addition to short data messaging using GMSK and the polite implementation contemplated in SC123. The proposed use is within the geographic areas licensed to MariTEL in accordance with call signs WPOJ530, WPOJ534, WPOJ535, WPOJ532, WPOJ537 and WPOJ538.
