Special Temporary Authority application - Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
This application proposes the use of amateur radio, broadcast auxiliary, land mobile and certain microwave bands in the Austin, Texas area for terrestrial only, international and domestic video production operation; for two-way voice and telemetry for racing cars; and for two-way operational and security communications during the World Endurance Championship automobile race events and for testing prior to the event within and immediately surrounding the Circuit of the Americas Race Track. The STA is necessary because the race teams, from Europe and elsewhere, use land mobile, broadcast auxiliary, and microwave radio equipment that is not licenseable in the United States for the purpose set forth herein, due to frequency ranges, and it is new technology under development.
