Application for Special Temporary Authority
File No. 1099-EX-ST-2014

PURPOSE OF STA AND FREQUENCY COORDINATION

The purpose of this STA is to further test an automobile racing communications system for voice
and telemetry that is in the developmental stage. The tests will occur at three racing events in
Florida at two different racing venues, and the system will be deployed by two separate race
teams at each location, Krohn Racing and Prodrive Racing. Both race teams will use the
communications system on a developmental testing basis on behalf of and overseen by MRTC
Motorsport Communications.

The events during 2015 when this system will be deployed are as follows:

Daytona Raceway: January 9-11 inclusive (testing only) and January 22-25 inclusive.
Sebring Raceway: March 18-21 inclusive.

The applicant requires two frequency pairs as specified in this application in the range 150/170
MHz for duplex voice operations; two discrete simplex channels in the 456-465 MHz range for
data transmission; and two, 25 kHz bandwidth frequencies in the range of 450-470 MHz for data
transmission.

The applicant has consulted the ULS database with respect to the VHF and UHF channel ranges
sought and proposes what are believed to be unoccupied channels in the area of the Sebring
International Raceway and the Daytona International Raceway.

The “stop buzzer” contact on site on behalf of the applicant is M r. Gary Holland, whose mobile
number is (832) 495-9376.
