MRTC, Ltd.
Application for Special Temporary Authority
File No. 0679-EX-ST-2017

PURPOSE OF STA AND FREQUENCY COORDINATION

The purpose of this STA is to authorize the use of fifteen VHF channels for two-way voice
communications, and two UHF channels, one for voice and one for telemetry, by the Rebellion
race team at two automobile racing venues, Road Atlanta Speedway in Brazelton, Georgia, and
Watkins Glen International at Watkins, Glen, New York. These channels will be used for the
purpose of further testing of an automobile racing communications system for voice and
telemetry that is in the developmental stage by MRTC. The tests will occur at two brief racing
events during the months of June/July, 2017 (Watkins Glen) and October, 2017 (Road Atlanta).
The system will be deployed by the Rebellion race team at each location. The race team will use
the communications system on a developmental testing basis on behalf of and overseen by
MRTC Motorsport Communications.

The events when this system will be deployed are as follows:

Watkins Glen International: June 29-July 2, 2017 inclusive.
Road Atlanta Speedway: October 4-7 inclusive.

The applicant requires for each venue fifteen VHF channels, each using a channel bandwidth of
12.5 kilohertz for simplex and duplex voice operation and two narrowband UHF channels, one
for UHF simplex voice and one for telemetry from the race cars.

The applicant has consulted the ULS database with respect to the VHF and UHF channels sought
and proposes what are believed to be unoccupied channels in the area of each of the two
Raceways.

The “stop buzzer” contact on site on behalf of the applicant is Mr. Bart Hayden, whose on-site
telephone number is 470-233-4186.
