Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
This application proposes testing of an automobile race team operations communications system for voice communications for the P1 McLaren Race Team between crew and race vehicles at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in Salinas, CA; the Circuit of the Americas Race Track in Austin, Texas, and the Thermal Springs private race course in Thermal, CA during three events occurring between March 11 and April 17, 2016. An STA is necessary because the system uses land mobile radio equipment that is not licenseable in the United States at the moment due to frequency ranges, and it is new technology under development.

Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:  Testing of automobile racing communications system involving race teams and race vehicles including voice communications equipment.
