MRTC, Ltd.
Application for Special Temporary Authority
File No. 0121-EX-ST-2015

PURPOSE OF STA AND FREQUENCY COORDINATION

The purpose of this STA is to further test an automobile racing communications system for voice
and telemetry that is in the developmental stage. The tests will occur at a single racing venue at
Sebring, Florida during the period March 1 to 3, 2014. The system will be deployed by the Audi
LMP race team. The race team will use the communications system on a developmental testing
basis on behalf of and overseen by MRTC Motorsport Communications.

The event during 2014 when this system will be deployed are as follows:

Sebring, FL Raceway: March 1-3 inclusive.

This request is virtually identical to STA granted at this venue in 2014. See, WH9XID. Most of
the channels requested are identical as well.

The applicant requires for this venue three VHF frequency pairs as specified in this application
in the range 167/172 MHz for duplex voice operations; one simplex channels in the VHF range;
and a single UHF frequency at 442.075 MHz for data.

The applicant has consulted the ULS database with respect to the VHF channel ranges sought
and proposes what are believed to be unoccupied channels in the area of the Sebring Raceway.
The UHF channel in the band 420-450 MHz has been coordinated with local amateur radio
frequency coordinators and should not cause any interference to ongoing Amateur Radio
operators. In the event of any interference reported, operation on any of these frequencies will
cease until a solution satisfactory to the licensee is reached.

The “stop buzzer” contact on behalf of the applicant is Mr. Steve Harris, who can be reached at
+44 (0) 7973391410. If a United States contact number is required, undersigned counsel can be
reached at any time at (301) 351-3795 and will handle all stop buzzer requirements.

All other inquiries can be addressed to undersigned counsel:
