Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
The experiment will last four weeks. The period of operations will be 01 March – 31 March 2022.

Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:  The proposed experiment fulfills requirements for work supported by the Department of the Air Force under Air Force Contract No. FA8702-15-D-0001. The program is developing technology to improve the performance and protection of communication signals. MIT Lincoln Laboratory is developing a communications capability for the Department of Defense. In order to have a successful transition to the warfighter, the developed technology needs to be tested and demonstrated in air-to-air and air-to-ground flight tests. This STA will support a USAF demonstration to take place in March 2022 at Eglin AFB.
