                Call Sign KI2XEE
                Maritime Telecommunications Network, Inc.

Dear Secretary Salas:

Maritime Telecommunications Network, Inc. ("MTN") hereby submits, in triplicate, an
amendment to its pending Application for Modified Radio Station Authorization, FCC Form 442,
filed on January 24, 1997, associated with previously granted experimental authority to operate
Shipboard Earth Stations ("SESs") under Call Sign KI2XEE. (A copy of the January 24, 1997,
application is attached.) Due to time constraints, the attached certification of MTN is a facsimile
copy of the officer‘s original signature. The original signature will be provided to the Commission
as soon as it is obtained.

According to the Federal Communication Commission‘s Public Notice, Report No. DS—1851
(dated June 12, 1998), the satellites listed below will soon be transferred to New Skies Satellite, N.V.
("New Skies"), a Netherlands company. MTN currently utilizes these satellites to provide shipboard
earth station services. MTN, therefore, requests authority to continue to use these satellites after they
are transferred to New Skies:
