    Dear Doug:

             Maritime Telecommunications Network, Inc. ("MTN") hereby respectfully requests grant
    of its Application for Modified Radio Station Authorization, FCC Form 442, filed on January 24,
    1997, and amended July 25, 1997, which is associated with previously granted experimental
    authority to operate Shipboard Earth Stations ("SESs") under Call Sign KI2XEE. MTN respectfully
    submits that it continues to require experimental authority to continue testing and developing
    technological advances in spectrum use.
