Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
Joby develops and manufactures major aircraft components. Joby requests STA in order to test and evaluate the performance characteristics of aircraft radio equipment manufactured by Advanced Microwave Products (Model# VST1) in the 5091-5104 MHz band. Aircraft using the equipment will operate during daylight hours, any day of the week. Flight tests typically will be one hour in duration and will utilize the frequencies in the areas specified in the foregoing Form up to a maximum altitude of 15,000 feet above mean sea level. Test equipment will be operated only in one aircraft at a time for each location, though multiple aircraft may operate the equipment on any given day. See Exhibit A

Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:  The proposed operations have been frequency coordinated with the Aerospace & Flight Test Radio Coordination Council (“AFTRCC”), which obtained concurrence from the Department of Defense (see Exhibit 2). Joby See Exhibit A
