19 April, 2017 Itron Experimental License application for 2400 to 2483.5MHz question 7, Purpose: Itron normally validates the RF characteristics, network performance and system loading at the same time in a field trial of new units and networks. To do this we work with Utility customers to be able to have enough devices over a significate time frame (and e.g. over different seasons) to get valid statistical results. We are working closely with a customer in the San Diego area for doing a field trial. We will work directly with the Utility that if any issue arises with these experimental devices we are able to remove devices from the field immediately. And at the conclusion of the field trial we will remove and retrieve all the devices.
