The previous filing (0540-EX-PL-2016) sought authority to test terminals that at the time were under
development and that are used to provide part of a family of Iridium services known as “Iridium
Certus.” Iridium subsequently was granted a regular Part 25 licenses for these terminals, and
Iridium let its experimental license lapse. See File Nos. SES-MOD-20170413-00388 and
SES-MOD-20170413-00389.

The current filing (0380-EX-CN-2019) seeks authority to test terminals under development that will be
used to provide different Iridium Certus services than the original terminals. As reflected in the current
filing, these newer terminals have different technical characteristics than the original terminals.
