Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
This STA is necessary to provide for use by Clearwire Corporation (Clearwire) of up to 50 Wireless Multiconnection EDM320 from Intel Corporation (Intel) in each of three markets (for a total of up to 150 WiMAX cards) that have yet to receive Commission equipment authorization. Clearwire is currently deploying or is planning to deploy high-speed WiMAX mobile broadband networks operating in the 2.5 GHz band in three markets (Herndon, VA; Washington, DC; and Portland, OR) from September 1, 2009 to March 1, 2010. In conjunction with these deployments, Clearwire is evaluating a variety of consumer devices from vendors, including the Intel Wireless Multiconnection EDM320 that is designed for use in laptop computers.

Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:  To test and evaluate the performance of the Intel Wireless Multiconnection EDM320a WiMax network. The purpose of the proposed operation is to assure that consumers realize the full benefit of Clearwires new WiMAX network. Therefore, it is essential that Clearwire has an opportunity to fully evaluate the performance of the Intel Wireless Multiconnection EDM320 under real world scenarios before the WiMAX card becomes available to consumers. Because Clearwires network is designed to provide ubiquitous service to consumers at work, at home and outdoors, and because these WiMAX cards are intended for use in laptop computers that operate in a variety of locales, the testing must take place not only in business and commercial settings, but also in residential ones (where building construction and density is often quite different from that in other environments).
