The Commission granted Itron, Inc. the authority to operate as proposed in its initial application, and any subsequent modifications of that license. Pursuant to Section 5.166 of the Commission‘s rules, the program of experimentation as stated by an applicant in its application for license shall be subsequently adhered to unless the licensee is authorized to do otherwise by the Commission. Therefore, to operate in any other manner, the licensee must file an application to modify its experimental license. Upon approval of this modification application by the FCC, the additional operations may be undertaken. For your information, the Experimental Licensing Branch does not commonly grant authority to sell equipment prior to equipment authorization. To apply for a modification of an experimental license, file an FCC Form 442. You may obtain copies of FCC forms by calling our automated form line at 1—800—418—3676.
