Transmitter sites, namely, the Michigan Transmitter Facility (MTF) and the Wisconsin Transmitter Facility (WTF). The MTF and WTF employ 56 and 28 miles of pole—strung antenna, (respectively), which requires the use of a VHF FM two—way communications system between each individual site and its maintenance crews. Operation of the E.L.F sites is under authority of the Naval Telecommunications Command, Washington, D.C. and the Naval E.L.F. Detachment K.LI. Sawyer AFB, ML 49843.
