February 3, 2004 Mr. Young, We are responding to your inquiry regarding Hughes Network Systems' experimental license assignment application filed on 12/23/2004 (File Number 0034-EX-AU-2004; Confirmation Number EL479784). As to other related applications, four other applications related to this transaction were filed with other bureaus. One application was granted by the Wireless Bureau on 1/12/2005. (File Number 0001983906). The other three applications were placed on Public Notice by the International Bureau on 1/26/2005. (File Nos. SES-ASG-20041223-01893, SES-ASG-20041223-01882, SES-ASG- 20041223-01892). You have noted that pending experimental applications can not be assigned using Form 702. The Form 702 refers to two pending applications- an STA request, and an experimental authorization request. Since we filed this application, our STA application has been granted (File No. 0715-EX-ST-2004, call sign WC9XBH), and HNS is amending this assignment application to include that call sign. Moreover, HNS will be withdrawing its pending experimental authorization application (File No. 0262-EX-PL-2004). Accordingly, we are amending the assignment application to add call sign WC9XBH as an authorization to be assigned, and to delete references to 0262-EX-PL-2004 and 0715-EX-ST-2004 as pending applications.
