Message:
Mr. Young,
Thank you for your questions, specifically:
"Provide the following for all the 8 GHz frequencies:

a) Calculation of the Power Flux Density (PFD) level at the GEO’s belt/arc
b) Calculation of the Power Flux Density (PFD) level at the earth’s surface."

Answer: X-Band PFD at GEO is discussed in Section 5(c), Exhibit 2, File# 0024-EX-CN-2017, on p. 5-6,
specifically: "Assuming peak EIRP toward the GSO, the TT&C transmission with the peak EIRP = 9
dBW and BW = 85 MHz produces a PFD at the GSO of -196.22 dBW/m2/4 kHz."

Answer: X-Band PFD at Earth's surface is in Section 5(a), Exhibit 2, File# 0024-EX-CN-2017, on
p. 3-4, specifically: "As shown in Figures 2 - 3, the PFDs at the Earth's surface
produced by satellite transmissions satisfy the PFD limits in the ITU Radio Regulations for all angles of
arrival."

Note: File# 0024-EX-CN-2017 is the original application in which HawkEye 360 received its Part 5 Grant
to operate the Pathfinder satellite cluster. This original application contains all of the information
requested. Our Part 5 application (File# 0055-EX-CM-2019) is to modify the original grant (File#
0024-EX-CN-2017) to include Troll and Tromso as ground stations.

I will email you a copy of Exhibit 2, File# 0024-EX-CN-2017. If you or your colleagues have any further
questions, please let me know. Thank you
