A 6-month STA is necessary to allow Harris to demonstrate transmission of a ground to space uplink signal from the Phased Array Antenna System (PAAS) being developed under the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) Reduced Latency Space Data (RLSD) program.

Please explain the purpose of operation:
The STA will allow Harris to demonstrate transmission of a ground to space uplink signal from the Phased Array Antenna System (PAAS). Communications will include transmission to a fixed terrestrial receiver on Harris property as well as to the HSAT-1 cubesat.
