Subject:
New Regular Exp. License for GCA—PAR—2000 Radar System — Van Nuys Airport (VNA), CA.

Dear OET:

We are requesting a regular experimental license to continue the same testing we have been doing under
our current STA license: Call Sign WG2XGN (File # 0371—EX—RR—2015, Confirmation # EL317124).
Our GCA— PAR (Ground Control Approach—Precision Approach Radar) systems are a big part of our
business for various customers whether they are military, commercial, domestic or foreign. The standard
testing we do at our Van Nuys Airport site is fundamental in meeting acceptance test protocols for our
customers.
We are fully aware that any testing needs to be coordinated with the FAA Western Area Frequency
Coordinator prior to any radiating. Harris will honor all conditions that may be necessary to prevent
interference with any existing equipment and are willing to schedule the hours of operation to take place
during times of least air traffic in the vicinity.

Harris Corporation requests the same frequency operation, which are:

9025 MHz, 9080 MHz, 9100 MHz & 9125 MHz

(520W Output power, 914541.34W ERP power, 36.60 dBi antenna gain)

In conclusion, we are anxious to continue our testing and will standby to answer any questions you may
have.

Sincerely,

Forrest Pierson
