Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
Harris Corporation (Harris) respectfully seeks approval of its request to the Federal Communications Commission for a short term Special Temporary Authorization (STA) to operate in the 700 MHz public safety broadband (Band 14) spectrum currently licensed to FirstNet to demonstrate Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology at the 2017 Harris Technology Expo. The Expo will be held in Melbourne, FL from February 25 to March 4, 2017 and will provide demonstrations for both domestic and international first responder stakeholders and Harris customers.

Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:  Demonstration of wireless technologies related to the public safety community at the 2017 Harris Technology Expo. If granted, the STA will be used to demonstrate wireless technologies related to the public safety community. Licensee acknowledges that all Band 14 operations will be on a secondary basis and stipulates that there will be no potential interference with FirstNet operations or those approved to operate in Band 14. Demonstrations will not involve live-duty operations to protect life, property, or safety. The STA will serve the public interest by providing Expo attendees with an opportunity to test and receive an introductory knowledge of the benefits and capabilities of a Band 14 LTE public safety network.
