Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
Globecomm Systems, Inc. (GSI) hereby requests extension of the Special Temporary Authorization for live demonstrations for the Department of Homeland Security to Industry during the following dates: June 20-22, 2005, Hauppauge, NY (40-48-44 N; 73-14-13 W); June 27-28, 2005, Fort Meade, MD (39-6-36 N; 76-44-24 W); July 6-7, 2005, Reston, VA (Defense Intelligence Agency, 38-58-7 N; 77-20-29 W); July 13-14, 2005, Alexandria, VA (U.S. Transportation Command, 38-48-16 N; 77-02-50 W); July 20-21, 2005, Newport News, VA (Northern Command, 36-58-42 N; 76-25-42 W); August 2-3, 2005, Herndon, VA (38-58-09 N; 77-23-11 W); and August 10-11, 2005, Hauppauge, NY (40-48-44 N; 73-14-13 W). GSI will be demonstrating its line of lightweight transportable Ku band satellite communications terminals. GSI requests that the STA be extended for a period of ninety (90) days to allow it to participate in the upcoming demonstrations.
