Globalstar is requesting an extension to the original STA to coincide with the STA extension that FCC has granted to Blue Canyon Technologies for their STA: Joint Call Sign: WJ9XVC (same for Globalstar and Blue Canyon Tech) Blue Canyon STA File: 0039-EX-ST-2017. STA extension Granted 2/13/17 for 3/1/17 to 9/2/17 The extension is required because initial acquisition and commissioning of RAVAN was delayed in orbit. It is anticipated that the BCT CubeSat mission will be in orbit for approximately six months. Globalstar has been advised that BCT will notify the FCC of the dates of actual operation, once those have been established.

Please explain the purpose of operation:  The objective of the Globalstar project is to support communications for the RAVAN CubeSat mission. (RAVAN project objectives are presented in STA File 1257-EX-ST-2015 CallSign WJ9XVC, filed by Blue Canyon Technologies).
