Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
Globalstar is already licensed for use of the communication frequencies. The only change from the currently licensed Globalstar operations is that the Globalstar constellation will be sending/receiving transmissions to/from the FCC-approved terminals on a space station rather than communicating with these terminals from an Earth-based location. The Globalstar FCC License does not cover space-to-space operation, thus requiring this request for Special Temporary Authority.

Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:  To support communications for the Benchmark Space Systems BSS1 CubeSat mission, File 1519-EX-ST-2020, Call Sign WQ9XJJ . The purpose of this Special Temporary Authority is to allow the applicant to provide communications for the BSS1 CubeSat mission, STA FCC File BSS1 CubeSat mission, File 500-EX-ST-2020, CallSign WQ9XJJ. The objectives of the BSS1 project are presented in FCC File 500-EX-ST-2020.
