REQUEST FOR EXPEDITED PROCESSING

The Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense, Emerging Capabilities and Prototyping, (DASD (EC&P))
approved the Brilliant Effects Employment Shadow (BEES) Joint Capability Technology Demonstration
(JCTD) Program in August 2017 to provide an important technology capability demonstration to help
guide future Department of Defense (DoD) investments in autonomous, unmanned platforms and
distributed electronic warfare (EW) and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR)
systems. The program is on a rapid pace to demonstrate technologies on live test ranges for the next
two fiscal years. Based on program timelines and requirements establishment the required license was
unable to be applied for farther in advance, and the application is being submitted as soon as was
possible. The narrow programmatic test window opportunities necessitate testing in October. Activities
are being arranged in coordination with the 96th Test Wing at Eglin AFB for spectrum management.
