Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
Pursuant to Section 5.3(d) and (f) and Section 5.61 of the Commissions rules, 47 C.F.R. (2012), General Dynamics C4 Systems(GD C4S), hereby respectfully requests special temporary authority (STA) from November 18th, 2013 to May 17th, 2013 (6 months) to operate in 808-821/849-862 MHz band associated with 3GPP Band 20 for the purpose of demonstrationing LTE equipment and capabilities to the US Army at Fort Dix, New Jersey.

Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:  Demonstration of mobile broadband wireless technologies, in the form of LTE. Operation will be constrained to the area of Fort Dix, New Jersey. LTE will be deployed in a tactical ad-hoc manner around the base. The STA is requested for the full 6 months allowed to facilitate one or more planned & to-be-scheduled demonstrations. The STA will serve the public interest by providing US Army insights into how they can best leverage LTE in both their garrison and range operations.
