Please explain the purpose of operation:
Purpose of operation is to fly a General Atomics unmanned aerial system (UAS) from Laguna Army Airfield (ICAO KLGF) along a route of flight previously approved by the FAA to the US Navy-owned San Clemente Island airspace contained within the W-291 warning area. While within W-291, the experimental equipment listed in this application will be used to drop sonobuoys in conjunction with the US Navy. This is NOT for a government-funded contract; the operation is being conducted for research and development purposes and is fully funded by General Atomics R&D.

Purpose of operation is to fly a General Atomics unmanned aerial system (UAS) from Laguna Army Airfield (ICAO KLGF) along a route of flight previously approved by the FAA to the US Navy-owned San Clemente Island airspace contained within the W-291 warning area. While within W-291, the experimental equipment listed in this application will be used to drop sonobuoys in conjunction with the US Navy. This is NOT for a government-funded contract; the operation is being conducted for research and development purposes and is fully funded by General Atomics R&D. Maximum altitude while in restricted area surrounding Yuma and Warning Area 291 is 25,500 feet MSL; minimum altitude 1000 feet MSL. Emitters listed in this request will NOT radiate when in transit from Yuma Proving Ground to W-291.
