Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
STA requested to obtain permission to use fixed and mobile emitters that will be used on an unmanned aerial system (UAS) to participate in the PACFLT-ONR UxS Integrated Battle Problem exercise. Equipment testing will be conducted at Gray Butte Field Airport.
Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:
Use fo fixed and mobile emitters that will be used on an unmanned aerial system (UAS) to participate in the PACFLT-ONR UxS Integrated Battle Problem exercise. Purpose of operation is to fly a General Atomics unmanned aerial system (UAS) from Gray Butte Field Airport along a route of flight previously approved by the FAA to the US Navy-owned San Clemente Island airspace contained within the W-291 warning area. Maximum altitude while in restricted area surrounding Gray Butte and Warning Area 291 is 25,500 feet MSL; minimum altitude 1000 feet MSL. Emitters listed in this request will NOT radiate when in transit from Gray Butte to W-291.
