Information on Microwave Landing System (MLS) Sites

For the Milpitas, California, Globalstar test bed gateway site, there are four potential
MLS sites, i.e., Category III airports, within the 211 nautical mile transmit
coordination distance. The Milpitas site is located at 37-25-31 N, 121-53-47 W. The
airports are:

FAT Fresno Yosemite International Airport,
approximately 111 nautical miles from Milpitas
SMF Sacramento International Airport,
approximately 77 nautical miles away
SFO San Francisco International Airport,
approximately 26 nautical miles away
OAK Oakland International Airport,
approximately 24 nautical miles away

In addition, the Norman Y. Mineta San Jose International Airport (SJC) is only 4
nautical miles away, but it is not a Category III airport. Although SFO and OAK are
within the 39.8 nautical mile maximum trigger distance for MLS coordination, GUSA
Licensee LLC believes to the best of its knowledge that MLS is not active at any of the
above-mentioned sites based on a directory used for MLS coordination purposes.
