 Dear Mr. Morgan:

 Transmitted herewith is an FCC Form 442 with associated exhibits. The purpose ofthis submittal is to
 request experimental operation of a Cellular Digital Packet Data (CDPD) network in accordance with the
 Code of Federal Regulations, Title 47, Part 5. The small network will be used to assess capability of
 CDPD networks to support running data. The project will consist of a main station and small collection of
 remote units.

 Experimental authorization is requested to conduct the following type of operations as delineated in part 5,
 Paragraph 5.202.

          5.202 (a) "(Experimentation in scientific or technical radio research" in the particular areas of
          determining network throughput as needed to run multiprocessor data application software at
          remote sites.

           5.202 (h) We are pursuing the "Development of radio techniques, equipment and engineering data
          which are not related to existing or proposed services including field testing, and calibration of
           such equipment." (paraphrased)
