GTE GTE Government Systems Subject: Exhibit 1 The Inmarsat—M Ship Earth Station will be used in support of various U.S. government contracts and GTE IR&D. The unit will be used to test, evaluate, and demonstrate certain mobile communication concepts. GTE is one of the largest developers of mobile terrestrial communications systems for the U.S. army and other procurement agencies. The Inmarsat—M Ship Earth Station would be evaluated as a means for back—up communications for emergency use in support of the communication systems when those systems are inoperable or insufficient for communcation requirements.
