              INTERIM TECHNICAL REPORT NUMBER 4:
            EXPERIMENTAL LICENSES:KK2XBA and KK2XBB
                                   February 25, 1994

During this reporting period, June 15, 1993 to January 15, 1994, no additional
measurements have been made under either of the two experimental licenses KK2XBA or
KK2XBB. Efforts in this time period focused on statistical analysis of existing data, and
analysis to determine what measurements should take place next.

The data taken to date are being broken down and statistically characterized for use in
experimental indoor RF propagation modeling software. The first approach being
investigated is to use the data directly, with measured or scaled—measured data and
statistics projected to similar environments to predict RF and multipath behavior. The
second approach involves use of the data to develop, verify and/or tune other modeling
schemes such as ray tracing. A paper is being written for the International Symposium on
Personal, Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications that will present some of these
results.

Additional measurements are being planned for early March. These measurements will
help answer some questions on propagation outdoors in the near vicinity of an indoor
microcell. Exact measurement procedures are being worked out based on previous
measurement experience and data.
