Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
Testing and demonstration of a new model (4.0-meter) of GATRs inflatable satellite antennas in Ku-band. The original STA allowed GATR to gather performance data on this novel antenna design and verify manufacturing and testing processes and procedures, further refining the product before scaling up production. More time is needed to process the antenna performance data necessary to submit a modification to our existing Ku-band license, and once submitted that modification will further need time to get processed, approved, and granted. This STA extension will allow us to complete additional verification/integration testing before the full license is granted.

Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:  Demonstration of capabilities and performance of on-satellite network testing of GATRs new 4.0-meter sized inflatable satellite antenna. To demonstrate capabilities and perform on-satellite network testing of GATRs new 4.0-meter sized inflatable satellite antenna. The extreme portability of this new 4.0m system (3 cases, less than 350lbs total) follows the natural progression of GATRs already vetted VSAT terminals, and will enable high bandwidth hub operations for the Government, Military, and Commercial markets. Demonstrations will be primarily for US Government customers throughout CONUS, including Alaska and Hawaii. Typical Points of Communication are Galaxy-17 (91W) and Horizons-1 (127W), but may include all US commercial Ku-band satellites as necessary. A similar license (E080108) exists for GATRs 2.4m, 1.8m, and 1.2m sized antennas in Ku-band. This STA will allow for testing of the new 4.0m sized antenna before adding it to the above license and releasing it as a product.
