Justification for keeping nationwide experimental license WB2XEM.
Equipment is used for acquiring seismic data for ExxonMobil. Its function is to provide seismic
data for the purpose of defining subsurface structures prior to drilling for these reserves
In many areas where seismic exploration is required, the traditional acquisition system that
requires wireline connections is not feasible. Both Manmade and natural obstacles prevent
cabled systems from efficient operation. Utilization of RF Telemetry from the CRU to the RTUs
makes it possible to expand the opportunity for seismic exploration in heretofore-inaccessible
areas. New geophysical techniques regarding random RTU placement can be utilized,
expanding the possibilities for seismic exploration in difficult areas.
