Mr. James R. Burtle
Chief, Experimental Licensing Branch
Office of Engineering and Technology
Federal Communications Commission
445 12th Street, SW
Washington, DC 20554

Dear Mr. Burtle:

The SBE is pleased to report that, based on representations that it has received
Erom Ericsson Inc ("Ericsson"), the SBE's concerns about the application of
Ericsson for Special Temporary Authority (STA) for an experimental facility at
Parsippany, NJ, to operate at 2,110-2,120 MHz [the Advanced Wireless Services
(AWS) A-block] appear to be resolved going forward. The file number of this
application is 0139-EX-ST-2007. The application was filed on March 16,2007.
Based on Ericsson's representations concerning frequency coordination Erom this
point on, which are described below, the SBE conditionally withdraws its March
16,2007, Informal Objection (10) to this application.

The resolution reached between SBE, Inc. and Ericsson Inc. is as follows:

1. Ericsson will confine its experimental operations to the upper half of the
AWS A-block; i.e., AWS Channel A2 (2,115-2,120) MHz, instead of AWS
Channel Al (2,110-2,115 MHz). This will reduce the level of out-of-band-
emissions (OOBE) falling in TV BAS Channel A7 (2,093-2,110 MHz) and also
allow more rejection by the band pass or channel pass filters often installed at
electronic news gathering (ENG) receive-only (ENG-RO) sites.

2. In addition to notifying individual TV Pickup station licensees authorized to
operate in the area of the experimental operation, Ericsson will also contact, by e-
mail, the local Broadcast Auxiliary Services (BAS) frequency coordinator shown
on the list of BAS frequency coordinators posted on the SBE website
(www.sbe.org). This will minimize the delay that can sometimes occur with
paper notifications sent to the corporate headquarters address of record for a TV
Pickup station.

3. Ericsson will ensure that a "hot line" telephone number is available, and
staffed, for all periods when experimental operations are taking place. The
Ericsson person at this hot line number will have the capability to suspend the

experimental operations in real-time, in the event that a TV BAS licensee reports
                 harmful interference to its operations.

Ericsson has represented, and it appears to SBE that the interference caused by the Ericsson
WC9XSK experimental operations in Queens, New York, was inadvertent, and that the failure to
meet the Special Condition 2 requirement on that experimental Special Temporary Authority
(STA), namely to prior coordinate with all TV Pickup licensees in the area, was an oversight and
will not be repeated.

Sincerely,

Chriss Scherer
