Subject: Request for Info - STA File # 0066-EX-ST-2001

Message:

1. You requested a 3 month period of operation for demo at a trade show. Why do you need
such a long period?
2. You requested operation for a 15 km radius of the convention center. If this is for demo at the
trade show, why are you requesting such a large area of operation?
3. 40 W ERP seems excessive for mobile units. Are the transmitters really base stations that you
intend to move around?
4. 1920-1930 MHz is allocated to low-power unlicensed PCS services in the USA. This
application would not meet the power limitations of Part 15, Subpart D of the FCC's Rules.
Regardless, you will need the consent of UTAM to operate in this band. UTAM can be reached
at (800) 429-8826.
5. You will need consent of the local PCS Block A licensee to operate in 1930-1940 MHz.
6. 2110-2130 MHz is still allocated to fixed microwave services. Please provide evidence of
coordination with these users as defined in Part 101.103 of the FCC's Rules.

The items indicated above must be submitted before processing can continue on the above
referenced application. Failure to provide the requested information within 30 days of
February 14, 2001 may result in application dismissal pursuant to Section 5.67 and forfeiture of
the filing fee pursuant to Section 1.1108.
