             Attachment to FCC form 601
             Request for Special Temporary Authority

On behalf of ESPN Productions, Inc. ("ESPN"), this letter requests Special Temporary
Authority ("STA") to operate UHF frequencies under Section 90.145 in order to coordinate event
emergencies, transportation, security and safety conditions in connection with ESPN‘s live coverage of
the 2014 ESPY Show to be held in Los Angeles California from July 5, 2014 through July 30, 2014.
ESPN has monitored the requested frequencies to insure that there is no interference with local licensed
users. ESPN has coordinated this proposed use with the Los Angeles are SBE frequency Coordinator.

The ESPY‘s is an annual event attracting an extremely large spectator crowd. Crowd control,
potential safety hazards and the need for effective radio communications for coordination are necessary.
Frequency distribution will be utilized for operations, security, crowd management and first aid
coordination. None of the requested frequencies will be used for broadcast purposes. Operations on the
proposed frequencies will be monitored on a 24—hour basis, and it is understood that authorization is
secondary in nature. There will be (1000) UHF 4 watt handheld radios utilized along with (12) 25—watt
trunking repeaters to provide adequate radio coverage of the event area.

The frequencies requested will be monitored in the Los Angeles California area to check for co—
channel interference to licensed users. ESPN will select the frequencies that are clear for our use and
will enable the busy out function on the trunking controllers to minimize any potential interference to co—
    channel users.

The applicant hereby certifies that no party of this application is subject to denial of federal
benefits pursuant to Section 5301 of the Anti—Drug Abuse Act of 1988, 21 U.S.C. §853(a).

If there are any questions concerning this request, please contact Eleanor DeVane of the ESPN,
Inc. Legal Department at (860) 766—4667 (Facsimile 860—766—2423) and for questions of a technical
nature, please contact Dana Underhill at (860) 766—2278.

                                                            Very truly yours,
