Question 7: Purpose of Experiment
This application is being made to support the testing and evaluation of ELTA TAC-4G
LTE cellular phone system. The TAC-4G system is a man-portable LTE cellular base station
designed to provide quickly deployable, broadband communications for the Department of
Defense.
These tests will be conducted for production tests, and to demonstrate products to
customers. Tests and demonstrations will be conducted at ELTA's facility located at 11840
West Market Place, Fulton, MD; Ft Benning, GA; and near Butlerville, IN. The Fulton
location is located in a mixed-use business development of mostly single-story buildings.
Demonstrations at Ft Benning will be conducted at the McKenna Leyte Heliport which is a
remote training area. Demonstrations in Indiana will occur at the Muscatatuck Urban
Training Complex and Jefferson Proving Grounds.
Typical tests and demonstrations are of short duration, conducted on short notice, and may
be requested multiple times by a potential customer. An experimental license is being
requested in lieu of a Special Temporary Authorization to accommodate these
requirements.
ELTA NA acknowledges that experimental operations will be on a non-interference basis and
will coordinate with licensees in the requested frequency bands.
