             Description of Research Project and Request for License Renewal

Datron World Communications, Inc. (“Datron”) hereby submits the attached application to
renew the experimental license for station, WE2XZP to permit Datron to continue testing
equipment that it manufactures for its customers, which include the FBI, the National Guard, and
the U.S. Army, and a host of other critical federal, state and local entities. There will be no
change to any of the parameters of Datron’s current operations.

Consistent with its original application and subsequent renewals, although Datron is authorized
to use the equipment at 1000 watts ERP, Datron generally tests its equipment at a lower ERP.
Any testing of non-fixed units performed outside of its factory (which occurs only 30 days a
year), are operated in remote areas where co-channel licensees are unlikely to be present. With
respect to the testing that is performed at Datron’s factory, the Commission can easily determine
the source of any interference in the unlikely event that Datron produces any interference. There
have been no reports of interference from Datron’s operations to date. Accordingly, Datron
respectfully requests that the Commission grant its renewal, so that it may continue its equipment
testing for its critical customer base.

                                        *       *      *

Should there be questions regarding this Request for Waiver, the Commission is asked to contact
counsel for Datron, Russell H. Fox (202.434.7483; rfox@mintz.com) or Alyssia J. Bryant
(202.434.7362; ajbryant@mintz.com) of Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C.
