Dear Sir/Madam,

DRS Sustainment Systems, Inc. ("DRS"), hereby replies to the following correspondence that
was sent to DRS by OET on October 6, 2016:

"Please explain the purpose of your STA application. If you need to continue operating then you
should file a form 442 and withdraw this application. If you just need a little more time and will be finished
within another 6 months then we can grant this application as a "new" STA for the same
purpose. The items indicated above must be submitted before processing can continue on the above
referenced application. Failure to provide the requested information within 30 days of October 06, 2016
may result in application dismissal pursuant to Section 5.67 and forfeiture of the filing fee pursuant to
Section 1.1108."

DRS requests that OET grant the existing application as a "new" STA for a 6 month period.
The purpose of the STA application is the same as was listed in the Confidential Exhibit 3 submitted with
the original STA application that was filed, and granted, under call sign WJ9XKX.
