Ref. 20365

Mr. Serafini:

On behalf of DRS Sustainment Systems, Inc. (“DRS”), this message is in reply to your
inquiry issued under Ref. No. 20365 on 5/30/2013 for the above-referenced application.

As an initial matter, DRS greatly appreciates your comments regarding the requested frequencies, and
DRS is committed to ensuring that its requests are narrowly tailored to its experiments’
requirements.

To that end, as a result of a thorough examination of the test and demonstration requirements associated
with use of the subject equipment, DRS has refined its frequency requests on the application to specify
the following bands:

- 30-40 MHz
- 50-60 MHz
- 75-85 MHz

With this modified frequency request specifying discrete 10 MHz segments, DRS will be able to minimize
overlap with co-channel operations, while ensuring sufficient characterization sampling of radio
performance at the beginning, middle and end of the band, as required for this experiment. In addition, in
reply to your question, this is to confirm that it is not necessary that DRS be authorized exclusively on
government/military frequencies.

Should any further questions arise with respect to this request, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Jeff Rummel
Attorney for DRS Sustainment Systems, Inc.
