(1) Identification ofthe specific information for which confidential treatment is sought:

        Cummins requests confidentiality for the supplement exhibits (exh ibit for reply of
        question no.6) provided with this filing. General information about the filing should not
        be considered confidential.

(2) Identification of the Commission proceeding in which the information wa s submitted or a
description ofthe circumstances giving rise to the submission;

        The materials were submitted in order to provide the commission in formation on the
        research and experimentation plans.

(3) Explanation ofthe degree to which the information is commercial or fina hcial, or contains
a trade secret or is privileged;

        This research project involves a new product concept at Cummins ind its disclosure
        could lead to loss ofbusiness and impact Cumminsif it gets into the ha id ofcompetitors
        or public arena

(4) Explanation of the degree to which the information concerns a service th¥ t is subjectto
competition;

        It is Cumming‘ intention to develop a wireless datalogger to collect dia mostic data from
        engine. Competitors are actively developing solutions that may comper ic with Cummins
        solutions.

(5) Explanation of how disclosure of the information could result in substant ial competitive
harm;

        By discerning our development schedule and plans, competitors coul use the material
        to develop a competitive offering to Cummins.

(6) Identification of any measures taken by the submitting party to preventu authorized
disclosure;

        Materials are labeled "Proprictary and Confidential" and transmitte d only to parties
        under specific non—disclosure agreements (NDAs)

(7) Identification of whether the information is available to the public and th extent of any
previousdisclosure oftheinformation to third parties;

        The information provided has not been made available to the public, land only to third
        parties under NDA.


(8) Justification of the period during which the submitting party asserts that material should
not be available for public disclosure;

       The experiment will continue up to 24 months and disclosures being filed. The material
       should not be available for public disclosure for at least 10 years from the date of filing.

(9) Any other information that the party seeking confidential treatmentbelieves may be useful
in assessing whether its request for confidentiality should be granted.
