CUSat

Paul Jackson 17June 2013

Dear Paul

Thank you for the revised coordination request. I have discussed your request with the advisory
panel. The coordinated frequency is as requested

Uplink/Downlink 437.405 MHz

The above frequencies have been coordinated with the understanding that you have agreed to
the IARU terms of reference for the use of amateur service spectrum for experimental purpose.

You have indicated the launch date as 9 July 2013. Please advise us of any changes in the
launch date. Although we have avoided coordinating frequencies which have already be
coordinated for other known satellites on the same mission, it remains your responsibility to
check for any possible conflict and advise us accordingly

Please also confirm the name and full contact details of the person who will control the
operation of CUSat after launch.

Please note that all frequencies in the amateur satellite service are shared frequencies. We
have attempted to make the best possible selection for your project.

We have noted the measures taken in controlling the satellite. We however draw your attention
to the attached paper “controlling satellites” which sets out the requirements as per ITU
regulations.

In section 4C you indicated that the person commanding the satellite will use his/her own
callsign. Please note that as CUSat is licensed as experimental this is not appropriate. Please
check with the FCC what the requirements are

Best wishes for a successful project. Please keep us informed of progress
