Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
Applicant wishes to demonstrate its new, advanced technology TETRA equipment at the APCO Trade Show being held August 14, 2000 through August 17, 2000 at Hynes Convention Center, 900 Boylston Street, Boston, MA, 02115. The equipment is not yet type accepted by the FCC, therefore, FCC grant of STA is necessary for exhibiting and demonstrating this equipment in the United States. The purpose of operation is to demonstrate this new, advanced technology equipment. Operation will be in the best interest of the general public as this equipment offers a new, advanced and efficient form of communications for use by Public Safety entities. The demonstrated technology is under consideration to become a U.S. standard for Public Safety agencies under APCO 25 Phase II effort. Demonstrating the equipment at the APCO Trade Show in Boston, MA will present an opportunity for U.S. Public Safety professionals to become acquainted with the technology and to ensure that the correct standard is adopted for the benefit of the general public.
