The goal of our related test procedure is to allow Cisco’s CTAO team to better understand the technical requirements for
providing mobile backhaul for LTE systems using a hybrid fiber coax system, as well as the performance impact on both the
network and user experience.

Cisco intends to operate off the shelf RF equipment using the Open Air Interface (OAI) software. This equipment has been
designed to conform to the PHY and IP stack requirements as defined by the 3GPP specifications for all band operations in
the US.

A benefit of choosing the OAI equipment for the testing is its extremely low transmission power of 1 mW as maximum
conducted power with a maximum EIRP of 6.3 mW. In comparison, other commercially available small cells typically have a
transmit power of 1-5 Watts. Additionally, the test procedures will be conducted indoors. Cisco therefore is confident that the
RF exposure to the existing systems in the band will be negligible.

Figure 1 shown above illustrates the description of the intended setup.
