Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
Chevron is one of the world’s largest integrated energy companies with oil and natural gas exploration, production, refining, and marketing activities worldwide. Chevron has extensive exploration and production activities in the Gulf of Mexico. Chevron operates private communications systems in the Gulf to provide radio control, voice and data communications that support offshore and onshore oil and gas production activities, and to allow onshore personnel to communicate with Chevron’s offshore workers. Chevron is testing new LTE equipment and the STA is necessary to facilitate LTE testing at a shorebase in Lafourche Parish, LA in the 700 MHz band.

Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:  Chevron seeks to use LTE equipment in the 700 MHz band to provide enhanced communications capabilities to and between onshore and offshore workers. This communications system promotes the safety of Chevron’s workers, especially those working offshore, and the surrounding environment.
