NARRATIVE EXPLANATION OF OPERATION

This application seeks grant of a conventional experimental license for testing of mobile
equipment operating in the 3.65 GHz band. Chevron operates oil platforms in the Gulf of
Mexico. Chevron intends to test this equipment around two platforms located more than 80
miles south of the coast of Louisiana. The equipment would be placed on a drill ship and used
for communication between and around the two platforms.
