Verizon is working with Samsung to trial equipment using 28 GHz spectrum for mobile
wireless broadband. The purpose of this testing is to evaluate the performance of the technology
in a mobile and fixed environment. This trial will consist of sites that will be covering areas
where Verizon holds a Part 30 UMFUS license. Data supplied to the device will be using Part 30
millimeter wave licenses which will be used by the devices to supply internet connectivity
through Wi-Fi at 2.4 and 5 GHz. Wi-Fi operations will be compliant with FCC rules for 2.4 and
5 GHz. Verizon will be the responsible party for the trial.
Verizon and Samsung will be the only participants in this trial, and they will maintain
control of all of the devices throughout the testing period.
