Attachment A to File No. 0180-EX-CR-2019
                                        April 11, 2019
Because of the ongoing nature of Carnegie Mellon University’s (“CMU”) TV White
Spaces Research, both at its main campus, located at 5000 Forbes Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15213
and within the CMU Silicon Valley Campus at the NASA Ames Research Park, Bldg. 23 (MS
23-11), Moffett Field, CA 94035, CMU respectfully requests the license (WI2XXL) be renewed
for the maximum five year period. This is permitted by Section 5.71(a)(2) of the FCC’s rules, 47
C.F.R. § 5.71(a)(2).
CMU has made a major commitment to TV White Spaces research in terms of funding,
professors and students. Many of its experiments are ongoing and involve incremental changes
based on learnings from existing experimentation. CMU submits that this level of commitment
and experimentation satisfies the Commission’s requirements for an extended license term.
