Subject: 0153-EX-CM-2017
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Message:

Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) was asked the following question: “What is the purpose of
requesting to operate in these bands [902-928 MHz] where they are not considered white
spaces?”

While the existing license (WI2XXL) covers “TV white spaces” testing, CMU has also
developed experimental radio devices and desires to test them in the 902-928 MHz band before
submitting them for Equipment Approval under Parts 2 and 15 of the Commission’s rules.

If you need further information or have questions about this response, please contact the undersigned.

Thank you for your time and consideration.
